GTUC Hosts 21st Prestigious Lecture

On the 30th of November, 2019, GTUC had the honour of hosting its 21st Prestigious lecture for Graduate Students. The event was hosted at the Florence Onny Auditorium and witnessed a masterclass lecture delivered by Prof. John Latham, the Vice Chancellor of Coventry University. Prof. Latham, who possesses a remarkable track-record in progressive academic management, gave an in-depth insight on the topic of the Lecture, “Data-driven Governance”.

During the Lecture, Prof. Latham emphasized the importance of data, highlighting its essential role in terms of being able to drive performance and most importantly help build sustainable platforms for long-term development. Prof. Latham, addressed questions from the audience and  expanded on his lecture by demonstrating how the effective use of data has played a major role in increasing enrollment at Coventry University, even far above their expected levels for the current academic year.

The chair for the event was Dr. Ebenezer Malcalm, Dean of the Graduate School and he also lent his unique insights into the intricacies of data management and its role in effective leadership and governance. Dr. Malcalm emphasized the fact that data had become increasingly essential in our current era of modernization and that there was no room to ignore its importance in the grand scheme of management strategy.

Once again, the Prestigious lecture offered an excellent opportunity to network and gain valuable insights from a knowledgeable and experienced resource base. We hope that there will continue to be events such as these in the future as we continue the pursuit of knowledge at GTUC.
